SUMMARY:14th Edition of the Intensive Course in Nursing Ethics
DESCRIPTION:Intensive Course on Nursing Ethics\, Leuven\, Belgium\, December 1–4\, 2026\n€950 – €1050 \nFrom December 1 to 4\, 2026\, the Centre for Biomedical Ethics and Law at KU Leuven is organizing the 14th Edition of the Intensive Course on Foundational Approaches\, Contemporary and Educational Issues in Nursing Ethics. The course is interdisciplinary in nature\, drawing on philosophy\, nursing\, and clinical ethics. \nDuring the course\, experts from home and abroad will deliver lectures on various topics within nursing ethics. This edition will pay special attention to: \n– the ethical foundations of nursing\,\n– handling nursing-ethical dilemmas\,\n– moral distress and ethical leadership in healthcare\,\n– nursing-ethical reasoning styles\,\n– characteristics of the ethically competent nurse (EU PROMOCON project)\,\n– relational autonomy in end-of-life care\,\n– the ethics of tele-palliative care\,\n– ethics in neonatology and pediatrics\,\n– qualitative research in nursing ethics (QUAGOL). \nAmple time is allocated for discussion. The language of instruction is English.\nThe course is aimed at participants from diverse professional backgrounds—such as nursing\, medicine\, psychology\, social work\, pastoral care\, philosophy\, and healthcare—as well as PhD students in these fields.
